Laws of Physics Catches Up With Ally Star
Hollywood – FOX representatives announced today that an accident had occurred on the set of Ally McBeal, that studio’s hit Monday night comedy. Taping was reportedly interrupted for almost 2 hours while paramedics treated actress Lisa-Nicole Carson for a deep laceration to the face.
According
to witnesses, the accident occurred during a scene involving Carson’s
character, “Renee” and the star of the show, Calista Flockhart’s “Ally
McBeal”. Apparently, at some point during the rehearsal of the scene involving
the two women, the nylon harness that secured a satchel containing lead
counterweights to Carson’s back, suddenly snapped. Observers could only watch
helplessly as the fifty pounds of lead crashed to the stage floor.
Simultaneously, Carson, no longer able to maintain balance against the forces of
gravity acting upon her breasts, toppled forward striking fellow actress Calista
Flockhart’s left hip, opening a five inch long and one inch deep gash on her
right cheek.
“I knew it was just a matter of time”, said Harold Thompson, prop
manager. “I told them for weeks about that harness, but the execs said we were
on a schedule. They said it was an acceptable risk”
FOX spokesman emphatically denied the accusations, stating the
counterweight satchel design was used successfully in the past without incident
by actresses such as Dolly Parton and Rachel Welch.
Carson was treated and released from a nearby hospital. Her agent told
reporters the actress would return to the set of Ally McBeal after plastic
surgery scheduled for later this week. -TDC
