Under Seige
Hollywood - Orange County authorities were
forced to erect a blockade around actor Gil Bellows home tonight as incensed, vengeance
seeking women surrounded the residence and called for the immediate execution of the
besieged star of the hit television show Ally McBeal. Bellows portrays the character Billy
on the series, who in an episode which aired this evening, expressed his love for the
character Ally, played by actress Calista Flockhart. Police officials have insisted that
the situation is under control, and for the moment, original plans to call in the
California National Guard are on hold although they add no action has been ruled out.
Capt. John Alevides stated this evening: "It's quite an ugly mob, and unfortunately
we did have to cap stun some of the ladies carrying ropes, but the situation for the
moment is under control" Sources inside Bellows home spoke briefly with the actor
asking if he had any fears of being typecast as a despicable womanizer. Bellows reportedly
responded: "My only fear for the moment is waking up tomorrow", "Those
people are wacked!" Publicists for Flockhart were unavailable for comment, though
inside sources report while Flockhart does not support the call for the actors death, she
was "concerned at the lack of tact displayed by Bellows in tonight's episode, and
will consider whether to continue on the show if the Billy character is kept on.
